Certification: At the end of the course students are awarded with an RYA Coastal Skipper theory / Yachtmaster Offshore theory course certificate.

Along with full support of an RYA instructor by email. (Pack takes approx. 3-5 days to arrive).


The RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster theory course is an advanced course that builds on the knowledge gained on the shorebased Day Skipper. During the course you will be taught advanced navigation techniques - position fixing, course shaping and plotting, tidal knowledge including secondary port calculations, navigation in restricted visibility, Admiralty publications and electronic position finding equipment. The meteorology tuition includes the taking and interpretation of forecasts, plotting of weather systems and weather prediction. The International Regulations for Prevention of Collision at Sea are also taught for day, night and restrictid visibility.
